Sunday, August 23rd, 11:00 a.m.
August’s Sunday Assembly will be about “Radical Inclusivity,” a concept at our very core as we strive to welcome people from all walks of life. It is particularly relevant in light of recent events regarding the legalization of same sex marriage, and controversy over the Confederate flag. Our featured speaker, Jenn Taylor, will discuss the need for greater diversity in the secular community, and how this can be achieved. We’re also thrilled to announce our NEW and IMPROVED children’s program! The activity will be messy, fun, and educational (hint: cracking eggs)! We’ll hear an enlightening reading by everyone’s favorite Science Guy, Bill Nye, sing a couple of familiar songs to get the endorphins flowing, and play a game to get to know one another. We’re also pleased to have two of our members sharing their musical talents by performing a duet together! The program begins at 11:00 and doors open at 10:30, so arrive early to mingle and get a good seat. It will be followed by a potluck, so bring a dish to share (it’s okay if you’re not a culinary whiz – a bag of chips, bucket of chicken or something from the deli will suffice).
